Media Trials

Aren't the media trials went beyond their limits to defame the accused( the honourable justices accused in controversies)...aren't these media trials diminishing the basic tenet of natural justice that ‘innocent until proven guilty’?
Yes. ofcourse they are only media trials. One cannot be arrested because a media trial declared you guilty.
Media trails refer to spoiling ones name before proven to be guilty. While people may form opinion based on media trial, this has no legal consequences for the case in hand.

So can any action be taken against media for defaming the accused sir ?
Yes, defamation cases can be done. Media is considered fourth pillar of democracy and we expect them to have their own code of conduct
Media is expected to exercise the right to freedom with responsibility. In case of wrong doing by the press, one can approach the press council of India also

but sir, then the question arises the influential n powerful can shut the media through defamation cases...but not the poor n unempowered...
talking about equal protection under law. all are allowed to file a defamation case. Media may not go after the poor.

so sir, should the media itself draw a fine line for itself...or it necessitates the govt interventions...
yes. we expect the media to draw their own lines as a responsible pillar of the democracy !!! any govrenment intervention will lead to unhealthy democracy. we dont want that. do we?
Government favours self regulation by the media.
